Emergency Door Release Systems

Internal and external emergency release solutions for electric passenger vehicle door systems.

TLG SYSTEMS develops and supplies mechanical emergency release solutions for bus, minibus, midibus and commercial passenger vehicle doors. Each system is configured according to the door mechanism, vehicle body, installation position, accessibility requirements and emergency operating concept.

01
SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Manual emergency access when normal door operation is unavailable

Emergency release components provide a mechanical method of releasing or disengaging the door system when electrical operation is unavailable or an emergency evacuation is required.

LOCATION Interior & Exterior

Release components can be installed inside and outside the vehicle according to the application.

OPERATION Mechanical Release

Manual mechanical operation independent of the normal electric opening command.

INTERFACE Cable / Rod Options

Connection architecture can be configured according to the mechanism and installation geometry.

APPLICATION Vehicle-Specific

Mounting, orientation and operating direction are selected for the vehicle and door system.

02
SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Configurable emergency release hardware

The final supply scope is determined according to the door mechanism, vehicle body and required emergency access points.

01

Internal Emergency Handle

Passenger-compartment release component positioned for accessible manual operation during an emergency.

02

External Emergency Handle

Exterior release solution supporting emergency access to the vehicle from outside.

03

Mechanical Connection

Cable, rod or linkage-based connection between the emergency operating component and door mechanism.

04

Mechanism Release Interface

Mechanical interface developed to release or disengage the applicable locking and actuation arrangement.

05

Mounting Components

Brackets, pivots and installation hardware adapted to the vehicle body and available packaging space.

06

Warning Signal Support

Emergency operation status can be combined with a switch or signal input according to the selected control architecture.

03
OPERATING PRINCIPLE

A direct mechanical path to release the door

The system is designed to provide understandable and practical manual operation while remaining compatible with the normal electric door function.

01

Emergency Handle Operation

The internal or external emergency control is manually operated by the user.

02

Mechanical Force Transmission

The cable, rod or linkage transmits movement to the release interface.

03

Door System Release

The applicable locking or actuation interface is mechanically released.

04

Manual Door Movement

The door can be moved manually according to the mechanism and vehicle configuration.

05

System Reset

After inspection, the emergency release is returned to its normal operating position according to the system procedure.

04
APPLICATIONS

Emergency release solutions for different door architectures

Component geometry and connection structure are adapted according to the selected door system.

Single-Leaf Door Systems Internal and external release solutions for outward-opening single-leaf electric doors.
Double-Leaf Door Systems Emergency release concepts configured according to the double-leaf mechanism and locking arrangement.
Sliding Door Systems Manual release interfaces adapted to the sliding mechanism and body-side packaging.
Special Vehicle Applications Project-specific emergency release hardware for special access and packaging requirements.
TECHNICAL SELECTION

Information required for system configuration

Emergency release hardware must be selected together with the complete door mechanism and vehicle installation.

  • Vehicle type and target market
  • Door type and opening architecture
  • Door mechanism and actuator configuration
  • Internal and external mounting positions
  • Available cable or rod routing area
  • Vehicle body and trim clearances
  • Required warning switch or signal interface
  • Applicable regulatory and project requirements
Vehicle integration and regulatory preparation

Emergency release location, accessibility, operating direction, marking and final installation must be evaluated according to the complete vehicle, applicable regulatory requirements and approval strategy. TLG SYSTEMS provides component and engineering preparation support; final approval is performed by the relevant authorized organization.
