VEHICLE ZONES

The complete vehicle package is reviewed together

A component position cannot be approved only because it fits geometrically. Its effect on weight, structure, maintenance, thermal behaviour and adjacent systems must also be reviewed.

Front Vehicle Area Driver environment, dashboard interfaces, front entrance, electrical equipment and visibility-related components.
Passenger Floor Seating, aisle, steps, wheelchair areas, floor structure and underfloor equipment interfaces.
Roof Package Air-conditioning units, roof hatches, wiring, ducts, structural bows and available maintenance zones.
Underbody Package Tanks, batteries, exhaust, air equipment, protective structures and required ground clearances.
Rear Vehicle Area Engine or drivetrain environment, cooling, generator equipment, rear structure and service access.
Side Body Areas Door openings, luggage spaces, service covers, wheel arches, exterior panels and structural interfaces.

ENGINEERING PRINCIPLES

Packaging decisions must support the complete vehicle

Each layout decision is evaluated against technical, operational and production requirements.

Geometric Compatibility Components, brackets and movement zones must fit without interference.
Weight Distribution Component mass and passenger load must remain compatible with axle limits.
Structural Compatibility Mounting concepts must respect chassis and body structural requirements.
Thermal Management Heat sources, ventilation and temperature-sensitive systems must be considered.
Service Access Inspection and replacement should be possible without unnecessary vehicle disassembly.
Production Feasibility The selected arrangement must support realistic assembly and installation processes.
Passenger Safety Equipment must not create uncontrolled hazards inside or around passenger areas.
Regulatory Awareness Package decisions are reviewed against relevant vehicle and market requirements.
